Since 2006, the Departments of Education and Health Promotion and Protection have made funds available to assist schools in the Halifax Regional School Board to become Health Promoting Schools.

To provide leadership and coordination of the Health Promoting School initiative, the Halifax Regional School Board is a proud member of the Our Healthy School Steering Committee.
